Food
What camp feeds you, what lives in the shared pantry, and what is squarely your own problem. Read this before you buy a week of groceries you don't need.
Camp meals
Dinner is communal most nights. Breakfast and lunch are on you.
- Build days: dinner nightly, hot and early.
- Event week: dinner nightly except Burn night.
- Strike: leftovers and whatever survived.
Todo Post the 2026 dinner rotation and cook teams.
Camp pantry
Shared, restocked by camp funds. Use it, don't hoard it.
- Cooking oil, salt, pepper, spice rack
- Coffee, tea, electrolyte mix
- Rice, pasta, beans, tortillas
- Hot sauce — an unreasonable amount of it
- Foil, wrap, ziplocs, trash bags
- Dish soap, sanitizer, gloves
You bring
- All your breakfasts and lunches
- Your snacks, bars, and jerky
- Your own water (see amenities)
- Your plate, bowl, cup, and utensils — labeled
- Your cooler and ice budget
- Any special diet items you can't live without
Kitchen rules
Non-negotiable
- Wash hands before touching shared food. Sanitizer is at the kitchen entrance.
- Three-bin dish system: wash, rinse, sanitize. Greywater into the tank, never on the ground.
- Raw meat gets its own board and knife, then everything gets sanitized.
- Nothing stays in the sun. If it was above 40°F for more than two hours, it goes.
- Every food scrap is MOOP. Strain the dishwater.
Cooking shifts
Every camper takes at least one cook shift and one dish shift. Sign-ups go on the board in camp during build week.
Todo Link the shift signup sheet here.
Dietary needs
Tell us on the roster form. We cook vegetarian-friendly by default and keep gluten-free options labeled — but if your needs are strict, bring backups.
The hot sauce program
Tasting bar supplies
The sauce bar is the camp's gift. It runs on tiny spoons, tiny cups, bread, milk, and a lot of handwashing. Everything for it is tracked in the inventory under Kitchen.
- Bringing a sauce? Label it: name, maker, and honest heat rating.
- Anything homemade needs a pH-safe recipe and a sealed bottle. No fermenting in camp.
- Milk, bread, and yogurt are the fire extinguishers. Keep them stocked at the bar.
- Gloves when handling anything above habanero. Then don't touch your face.
